Why Personas Matter

Different situations call for different communication styles. When you are debugging code, you want precise technical guidance. When you are brainstorming, you want creative exploration. When you need honest feedback, you want someone who will challenge your thinking. Personas let you match Flast’s communication style to your current needs.

How Personas Work

When you select a persona:
  • Flast’s tone and language change
  • Its approach to answering questions changes
  • The types of follow-up questions it asks change
  • Its willingness to challenge you changes
The core capabilities remain the same. All personas can use tools, remember context, and help with any task.

Default Persona

The Companion persona is the default. It balances helpfulness with honest feedback, matching Flast’s core philosophy of telling you what you need to hear. You can change your default persona in settings, or switch personas for individual conversations.
